The progress looks great but it's still heartbreaking to see so much of Lahaina's history is gone. Continued prayers for those affected. Thanks for sharing these updates.

Thank you again for the update. We have been to Maui twice since the fire in Lahaina, and have shopped local exclusively. Keep up the great work. Hope to see many more completed homes on your next video. MAHALO and Aloha.

My townhome was involved in a fire 5 years ago. It took 2 years and 4 months for my house to be rebuilt. I live in Los Angeles County where all building materials are available. I can’t imagine how long it would take for these homes to be rebuilt. I feel so bad for these people and can totally relate to what they are going through.
Thank you for sharing this video.

My wife and I have spent many months in Lahaina. My parents were both born on Maui. This was our favorite spot in Hawaii. We were in Lahaina just weeks before the fire. The people there were always so very nice and the area is rich with history. This destruction is hard to imagine. Our prayers for those local residents who have lived there for years and lost everything. Thank you for all the wonderful times. God Bless you and take care of you...

I am so glad I got to see Lahaina before this awful fire. I stayed at the lovely Plantation Inn.
As sad as it is to watch your very informative, professionally produced videos, I want to thank you for keeping us apprised on Lahaina’s rebuilding progress. My heart goes out to all of you.

Sad to see such devastation...all those cement slabs were homes and businesses. Perfect disaster for land grab. Thanks for posting🎉

Mahalo for all your videos since the fires. They are so informative and your good spirit and intent I believe is being well received. The videos do remind us of the tremendous tragedy but the huge cleanup efforts and rebuilding show the healing has begun. Wishing all the Best to Lahaina community. We love Maui and its people and will be visiting soon. Jesse, again Mahalo for your videos!

Seeing Lahaina in this state breaks my heart. Lahaina was truly a jewel, a paradise. I went to Maui a few years ago. What's happened here is a national tragedy. Why isn't one of the innovative tiny home companies helping residents who were displaced by providing tiny homes--even if they're only temporary. These people still need our help.

Way back in the early seventies my brother and I sailed our 57' sloop to Lahaina from San Francisco. We had been there many times before and intended to stay in Lahaina forever and use the boat for charter. Anyway, I remember all the breakfasts on the side porch at the Pioneer Inn and the "cook it yourself" dinners in the garden. The banyan tree, the lovely history sites, our apartment up in Napili, etc. Unfortunately the boat broke and it took the builder three years to cough up the damages. By the time the litigation was over living in Lahaina was out of reach. We loved that town dearly! I still get weepy viewing your videos all these long years later. What a terrible tragedy befell that Wonderfull town. E ola lōʻihi a pōmaikaʻi ʻo Lahaina.

Thank you for posting this. Two observations: 1) Cant believe they didnt bury the newly installed power-lines, especially in the areas where everything was destroyed (easy access to bury the new lines); 2) There is a YT vid on the removal of the sailboat at Lahaina Harbor (it was an intensive job, as it was completely filled with sand and tide was moving in).

I am devastated watching this video. The memories my wife and I had dining, walking and holding hands by the harbor before we started our family. Returning years later and teaching my sons to snorkel off Baby beach. Enjoying their amazement of the Banyan tree. Standing inside the Lahaina historical building (next to the tree) learning about the city's history unaware that the most tragic event in it's history would occur less than three months later.
Thanks for the video. It is actually more alarming to see everything cleared like this and probably waiting for a redevelopment of the area that will never be the same no matter how much they try to convince us of the opposite. A good example is that elementary school being moved "2.5 miles away from it's original location". Of course it was because that's prime, valuable oceanfront property. Why waste it on the local's children?

I have a fond memory of that Banyan tree from 1985. I was a kid. we bought a bag of macadamia nuts and sat on its branches enjoying them.

Jesse, thank you so much for this drone tour and update! I really appreciate your extremely organized way of presenting the drone tour and your extremely organized speech as well. It's great to see that places are starting the process of rebuilding and exciting to see the framing and beginning of construction from the air. Thank you for addressing the question of "land grab". If anyone would know the answer, it would be you since you are a realtor who knows the neighborhoods and knows where to look for the data. I am super super excited when I see that you have put up a drone video. Thank you for being our window to Lahaina and THANK YOU THANK YOU for all your hard work! 🙂

Mahalo Jesse for a great video. Sad and encouraging signs of delay and progress. We will see Lahaina rise from the ashes but time, energy and love will continue to be needed. Your non critical and non political videos are refreshing and needed for those of us on the mainland. Aloha

Thank you for this update, Jesse. We just returned from Maui where we had a wonderful time. We definitely miss Lahaina but there are so many other places to go.

We ate at one of the restaurants on Front Street that survived the fire. It was sad that one of the other restaurants is asking people not to ask their staff about the fire as many of them are survivors and don’t want to talk about their experiences.
