SAT questions on Exponent Rules

Solving exponent problems in the SAT: To answer multiple choice questions on exponents, remember (1) quotients with powers of the same base simplify using the difference of the exponents, and (2) for a power of a power, you multiply the exponents. For fractions in exponents, the denominator can be treated as a root, so that x^(1/3) is the same as cube root of x.

The usual shortcuts also apply. Make up numbers for x, y, or both if that will simplify the problem.
