Death into Life 🖤 When a whale dies at sea it becomes food for thousands of creatures #nature

It’s oddly calming seeing this, knowing thr whale lived it’s life, getting scars from fights and learning to avoid predators, and then when it dies becoming its own little ecosystem in service to the rest of the ocean. The seagulls peck away at the flesh, the sharks tear off chunks of blubber rich meat, and then when the bones sink all those miles down to the ocean floor, tiny microorganisms make the bones their home. It was a great beast in life, and a great contribution to the ecosystem in death.

it lived an entire life. it raised children. though them how to become responsible participants in this world. this is a hero as ever i have seen one.
