Love the split-screen format of your instructional videos, showing picking hand and fretting hand. You are an excellent teacher as well. Perfect! Thank you!

Awesome man. Doc was a huge influence on me too. Im doing Black Mountain Rag as a tribute to him at the next show we do. Nice to see a good tribute to a true flatpickin hero.

Hey Ben, I've been watching your stuff for awhile now and been loving it! as you mentioned this is one of the first albums that got me into bluegrass as well. Every song is still stuck in my mind. This being my fav! I've always wanted to learn this version and I will begin NOW!

Thanks for the Doc! More please!

On my website, I have a "Travis" style version of I'll Fly Away that is pretty cool! Of course, Travis just used his thumb and index, whereas my version uses 3 fingers. It IS tough to do, but once you rid yourself of some basic mental blocks, things really start to flow! This guitar is an '09 Martin D18 Golden Era...it's killer!

I remember watching the news, hearing doc had left us. I was the only family member who knew who he was and I’m Proud of that.

Oh...and also the tab at the bottom of the screen. Even more perfect!

Not only would I mind, I did! :) If you visit the website, you can see the full ~30 minute instructional video and tabs as a Gold Pick or Lifetime member. I'd appreciate your support to help me put out more stuff like this! Thanks!

I think they're great! Some are better than others, of course.

Haha! This guitar is actually BRAND NEW (not even a strap button installed) and is FOR SALE by a friend of mine. It's the Collings CW MhA, which is the Clarence White enlarged soundhole model. It's a boom box bomb, man, and the highs are incredible. Email me through the site if you're interested and I'll shoot you the price (which is a good deal).

Hi Ben, I like Watson too!! I'm trying to learn Travis-picking, but it is very hard to learn. Do you have some tips for me (and other people who are trying to learn it...)? Which Martin guitar do you play in this video by the way?
