The tubes on the side are “ air tubes “ these feed cold air to the flame so that it burns brighter. As the air enters at the base of the air tube it’s then heated by the flame and rises out the chimney at the top causing a draught which draws more cold air to feed the flame. Simple but brilliant. Excuse the pun.

It's 2023. WHY would we need these? The advances in LED and solar charging has made some GREAT camp lighting options. I am all for nostalgia and I like FIRE. I suppose that is enough.

Interesting video. On the bottle of my paraffin lamp oil, it says the oil can freeze at 45F. I use undyed kerosene in my lanterns as I don't care for the citronella smell in the house. Looks like the burner in the Stansport was installed upside down. Why do you store them dry?

i brought a stansport lantern at wm, $8.00.
Put about half inch of kerosene in it and sat it in a aluminum pie pan with paper towels under it, , because i had heard so many bad reviews on it i just hadda find out 4 myself, , bottom seam on 1 side leaks bad other side is okay..
Should hv listened 2 the reviews & spent the $8.00 on beer instead..
