Im no genius but im pretty sure weather affects the fps. Next time make sure the weather is the same in a comparison vid.

Considering this is docked footage, I wonder after the update that Zelda on portable has next to no frame drops at all. Either way it appears to be a simple Programming error which Nintendo will probably continue to iron out before we get the DLC pack 1.

I've noticed a few framerate drops while I played, but they didn't affect my experience or gameplay in the slightest. A lot of the people complaining about these drops, I think, are just over exaggerating to try and make the game seem really bad.

But do Moblins entering ragdoll mode cause several seconds of freezing anymore?

as someone who plays a heavily modded Skyrim on a decent computer, I get frame drops all the time and this is NOTHING compared to even before the patch. when I played RE7 my computer could barely run it on lowest settings and I was getting 20-25 most of the game which was ALMOST unplayable but because it was constant I was fine with it.
personally I don't see why people bitch and complain so much at something as small as this, or even whether a game runs at 30 or 60FPS as long as they are somewhat consistent.

One thing I noticed is that the engine recovers much faster after a framedrop.

Now all we need is a drop option from the quick select menu and the ability to pet animals. Then this game would be as perfect as video games can concievably get.

That's a lie. This game won't be perfect until there's a patch where Mipha can be brought back and she and Link are together. ;-;

THIS VIDEO CONTAINS SPOILER ALERT FOR MASTER SWORD LOCATION GUYS!
I wish they'd stop making assumptions that everyone's finished the game already.
Disclaimers should always be in the description. This was a really special moment for me.
I'd like everyone to get that chance.

Nice. I hope the next update will fix the infamous Blood Moon glitch. Random Blood Moons happening at odd times of the day (Morning, Noon).

the framerate issue is really noticeable when you enter a town (at least for the WiiU version) and the worse is when you use a heavy weapon on Moblins (the Big dudes... not sure that's the correct name). when they fall down the game seems to freeze for one or 2 seconds... it ruins a bit the combat. hope it's fixed with this patch.

That's pretty cool. I can't recall an update that improves performance for a game. The drops have never really bothered me because they've never broken my gameplay, but still faster is always nice.

A good way to summarize the improvements is that it now runs in docked mode like the handheld mode did before. I've been to way more locations than in this video and I can confirm this. Of course it's still not perfect performance, but the overall result is that it's massively improved. I no longer need to resort to handheld mode for pretty smooth gameplay

at least they tried to fix the frame drops.

Hey guys how big is the update? I just got Zelda like two days ago and I've seen some major framerate drops in kakariko village. It even froze.

They need to release a patch that makes it rain less often!
Anyone else with me on that?

Looking at the forrest and the master sword altar, they fixed a problem with the grass animations almost completely and the framerate drop you see now is almost entirely caused by shaders.

Isn't unfair to compare cloudy, almost raining, with sunny weather and blue sky?

On the Wii U version Korok Forest seems to have been fixed almost entirely for what I can tell. Would be cool if you checked out that ver.

Kakariko Village was improved a bit too there.
