For final battles with eggman, Eggman always traps sonic in his ideal fighting setting so that he’s in control of the battle. It’s like he’s made sonic into a piece on a chess board. So the player’s goal is to maintain composure and Sonic is supposed to come across as composed despite the odds

This track has some of the most fantastic ambience I've ever heard in music. I literally cannot...*not* imagine being on top of a fast moving thing like a train or battleship when this plays. It's like you can hear the wind rushing past you without...actually hearing it.

This definitely was one of my favorite Dr. Eggman boss fights when growing up. Taking over the age Wyvern and flying it through the sky into objects to destroy it was a really cool concept and I loved how you were pressured to end the fight quickly or the entire stage would disappear. This gameplay along with the background of the destroyed ship, falling to your doom, and music easily made it one of my favorites.

I like how they made Sonic’s final boss theme more intense instead of playing the other same Eggman theme again. It’s the little details.

this song is the definition of intense boss fights think about it you are like way off of the ground nearly in space and there is nothing but clouds below you, you have to fight your 15 year long nemesis while he is controlling a huge robot dragon, you have to protect the princess of Soleana and the only means of standing on anything is this platform that is falling apart by the second and I think this music does a really good job at portraying that!
