In 2021, a guy (teacher and preacher) from Zambia called Magawa Kaphazi published a book with the title: "The world's greatest day of judgment: are you ready for it?" In his summary, he follows The Bible closely by writing: "In one greatest assembly, every human being who has ever lived, from all corners of the world since Adam and those alive at His coming, will stand before Him. All religions and all Christian Churches will be there". I do not if he was fully or slightly aware of the above song as he wrote that, but in essence he was saying that on the greatest day the world will come alive!

So, definitely this is a feelgood song, which I have liked for a long time, as many of us have.
But it is also a feel-God song, if you just scratch its surface, and the greatest day is not marriage day or school-leaving day in this understanding, but Judgment Day.
That is indeed the day at the End Times, before we run out of time.

So we do indeed need to make a new start, as everybody knows, before Jesus comes again, and we need our eyes and arms to do it, body and soul.

And it is He we are asking to stay close to us, and hold on (maybe several different meanings of that!).
And what associations do we have with urging somebody with arms open wide to hold their head up high?
Is that not a Crucifixion scene? Describing the moment that even made it possible for us to receive a chance of favourable judgment at the last...

There is not much else to the lyrics, and yet they have a quite clear, deeply-religious layer to them. I have no idea if the band know this - partly or fully, but the inspiring Holy Spirit DOES.
Of course "Take that" is what they say in comics when the good guy hits back at the bad guy!
