Displaced, Forgotten, Abandoned: Kairana’s Riot Victims | Article 14

Nearly a decade after communal voilence swept western Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, killing dozens of people and displacing thousands, mainly Muslim, the victims continue to live in squalor, neglected by the government and political parties. We visited Nahid Colony located on the outskirts of Kairana which consists mostly of riot-affected families who fled the horrors of the Muzaffarnagar riots which took place in 2013.
