Why has the government blocked off sections of the grand canyon from the public. It's public land.

Some 1000 years old Chinese scripts also described the journey over the big water to the American west coast, 13 days march inland they were stopped by a huge canyon. Not able to pass over it they followed it north for some weeks leaving a very perfect description after returning home to their Emperor. The only problem is....Roosevelt is standing in front of Yosemite Falls, which is, of course, in Yosemite National Park....about 1000 miles away from Yellowstone.
