IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.12 Catalog backup to Object Storage – Demo

This demo shows the new option to backup SPP catalog directly to cloud object storage. The older catalog backup options remain supported and are not changing. The catalog backup now has the following paths for sending data to cloud object storage: SPP catalog -to- backup to cloud & SPP catalog -to- backup to vSnap + optional replication to another vSnap -to- copy to cloud

If the catalog is directly backed up to cloud, it can be restored directly without needing a vSnap. If the catalog was copied to cloud via vSnap backup, it requires a vSnap to act as gateway during restore.
