I know I’m late, but I think Steve was really never in the wrong. In season 1 he was just a kid and liked Nancy, most boys at that age would probably have bad friends at that time.. he was nice, the only thing making him bad was his friends. He had a right to get mad at Nancy, she was seeing Jonathan (Which we know they weren’t together, but we can understand Steve’s thought process) We cant blame everything on Steve, Nancy isn’t a great person either.

edit: I think they could try again, at the time their relationship wasn’t going good because of all the stuff going down with Barb and other things. I see them being better with eachother in the future, although it might not happen. It might not be long term, but if it comes to it I see them being good as a short or long term either way. But do remember Nancy did cheat on Steve. Just because your on a break doesn’t mean you can do that. She messed up. I saw a deleted comment saying something about how Steve slutshamed Nancy, your in the middle there. He did, but later after he did tell his friends to not write that.

Edit: Aight this comment aged like milk cause it was a dumb, retarded comment. But anyways.. all I gotta say is Steve was a bad person in season 1, as one of the replies said in later season 1 he gets better.. but he did bully Jonathan and shit and all that and went way too over the top.. but Im trying to say he was badly influenced although most of his actions were done himself

For Nancy, she didn’t do anything wrong for the most part you know, what I will say now is that she was trying to become Jonathans friend from what I remember and Steve just got way too jealous over what he saw with the arm 💀

My memory of the earlier seasons is kinda dead but I would like to say some more things about early Steve
- Helped her study (kinda not really)
- He took the relationship more seriously as time went on (I think, might not be accurate)

Okay I need to state down that I dont support early first season Steve anymore, Im not sure what I was thinking but uh.. dumb.

Nancy did strange things, kinda forgot about the relationship, Steve also did bad things, bullying, grafiti.. etc

In the end they both did some things wrong (In the relationship)

In season 2, when she got with Jonathan, she changed and you remember in the finale, she danced with Dustin and made him happy.

I think that Johnathan has without a doubt made her happier than Steve. However, in season 1 Steve was kinda the worst but at the beginning of season 2 he was a good boyfriend, she just held something against him and was in love with someone else. Now, Steve and Nancy are completely different people from who they were at the beginning and I think the writers could bring them together in a satisfying way.
