Our latest homeschool adventure took us to Osbourne Farms near Pocasett, OK to watch the wheat harvest. We learned about combines, threshing, winnowing, bushels, what wheat is used for and where it goes once it leaves the farm. Mostly we learned that farmers have a wide ranging skill set, are great multi-taskers, and put in loads of effort and risk to feed us.

We hope you enjoy this look at wheat farming and that it honors farmers by shedding a little light on what they do.

The combine shown is a John Deere S680 with a 40 foot draper head.
