Okay when someone says “we should include disabilities in the sims” I’ve always been like “yeah but there will be SOOOO many issues with doing it. I’m fine if they don’t.” But then I saw the sim with knee braces and a cane just like me. I didn’t realize how much it means to me to see myself if the game.

It’s sad that The Sims team brags about how inclusive they are but all of the disabled people don’t get represented and have to rely on mods.

I am a disabled Simmer, I've been playing since the beginning when I was around 3. When I was 2 and a half I was diagnosed with dwarfism, and whenever I put myself in the game it was never accurate unless the Sim would always be a child. When Grant posted that they were wanting to eventually do it, I got so excited to actually see some real representation. Disability isn't a bad thing, it can be beautiful and it should be represented. I'm so thankful for these mods existing.

I wish I remembered the links but one thing I love for realistic gameplay that I have is traits for mental illness or more invisible disabilities like deafness, autism and fibromyalgia or just a general spoonies trait

I remember voting for the disability in the community survey. I'm not disabled but I follow a lot of disabled youtubes and influencers (mostly to decrease my ignorance and become more empathetic). But I agree this is a part of life to soooo many people so why not???

I’ve also found some 3 legged pet accessories, so you can have your 3 legged friends in game as well! I think it can add lots of variety to your game too ^^

Representation is incredibly important. We are invisible to the public already, too often, and being visible in the game of life means so much.
Tha k you for running through these <3 I love your efforts to be so inclusive and caring, and this collab. As a queer, disabled human, you make me very happy.

I have MS, and I listed disabilities when I filled out my survey. I had no idea that other people wanted this too. I just thought it was going to be a silent pointless protest. I’m so happy I’m not not alone, even if we’re a minority. My disability is mostly invisible, but things like service dogs, canes, and wheelchairs all make me feel seen.

I think some good mods are disability traits. I don't know if they still work since I don't use mods anymore but there's spoonie (chronically ill), ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism, etc. and they all seem to be pretty accurate.

This seems like such a great thing to have in game. Kinda bummed out that I exclusively own the game on console ://

My favorite sims mod for disability is the autism mod by PieBaldFawn its a trait and it adds buffs and stuff. The only problem is that it can make your sims feel extreme emotions that can lead to death.

Finally! A service dog and cochlear implant, makes using my sim-self more realistic.

I would love to have them. And for those who don't - maybe make it "Turnoff-able", like you could do with Sims3 Supernaturals.

And it could even include smaller things like Attention-issues (HD..something-unsure how it's called in English )
Maybe these Sims get the Bored- Moodled alot when doing Things for a long time.
Or learning-Disabilities, they take longer to do stuff like homework, learning stuff etc. But they can ask for help (maybe from Sims who can mentor in skills)

I have a tracheostomy, and I found a trach mod. I was so freaking excited, because it’s nice to be able to find something that makes my sim look more like me! I understand that they can’t create every little medical thing that someone has, but I’d love to see them add more than just the hearing aids and diabetes stuff.

As a visually impaired player, I would love to have a mod for tenji blocks. (The tactile ground walking indicators for the visually impaired/ blind. Most commonly seen at crosswalks, and railway / subway curbs, to warn people of when they are coming close to oncoming vehicles.)
Haven’t been able to come across one yet, but if anyone knows of one, please let me know! I would think one could make one not too difficultly by modding a floor tile, but I have no experience with coding, so it could be more challenging than I think.
