Honestly I always make the villain a brave guy that falls in love with the female protagonist or a flirtatious girl who falls in love with the male protagonist

I normally make the villan with an interesting backstory like a tragic back story who got misguided/got misguided as a child/had a traumatising event and wanted revenge. One such was/is my main oc's younger sister (she is reformed now)

Her logic is understandable. Black is associated with evil (as much as purple), death, sorrow and so on. But this thing doesn't apply to black people, because like really, it's just the amount of melanin in your skin.
Usually I do antagonists, who are just as ordinary as protagonists are - have their problems and worries, motivation, friends, love and so on (Well, I usually do ideas, which are kinda close to reality, so yes). For example, in one of my stories I have a gang of bullies as antagonist. But they're not pitch-bad - they care about each other, never attack until provoked (even more, most likely one of them will stop the fight, so no one of their gang would get in trouble). They're just people with mental wounds, who decided to form an alliance to fight the "evil world".

The type of villain I’d like to see more are the one who is evil for a reasonable reason and doesn’t do the dumbest things ever so we can feel bad and understand their side of story

How to really make a villain:
Do what you like, I like making villains normal people who secretly commit crimes such as murder here and there, and depending on the situation/universe, plan bigger attacks.
Mha has a good example, with villains that could easily be reimagined as heroes, and heroes that could easily be reimagined as villains. Don't make every villain an oversized devil dragon thing, and every hero some invincible angel, just make them casual people, optionally with powers

I personally always make villans very pale, with black hair, dark red or pitch black eyes and make them extremly cold and emotionless
