The suspect drove into two Capitol officers and a barricade, and was killed after he ran toward officers holding a knife, police say. Officer William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran of the Capitol police department, was killed in the attack. Law enforcement officials say the 25-year-old suspect was unknown to them prior to Friday’s deadly attack.

What happened to barriers at checkpoints to prevent vehicle injuries? In the military they use barriers and the guards always stand behind them for this exact reason.... why stand in FRONT of the barrier where a vehicle could strike??? Im confused on this outcome.
