Nairobi Azimio gubernatorial hurdle as Igathe enters race

The race for Nairobi governor seat continues to elicit mixed reactions following the entrance of Equity Group Commercial Officer Polycarp Igathe through the Jubilee Party. Igathe's entry is already creating cracks in the Azimio la Umoja - OKA coalition party, after Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, who is vying for the governor's seat maintained that he is still in the race and ODM should hand him a direct ticket.

As Wanyonyi's supporters demand that ODM should hand him nomination certificate, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna says that Azimio-OKA party partners could be the ones delaying the process.

This even as ODM Leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday issued nomination certificates to some of the ODM aspirants including governor candidates Gladys Wanga of (Homabay) and Simba Arati (Kisii). story by Dickens Luvanda. #Newswatch
