I decided for the first time to taste the delicious, local foods and street foods of North and South India, that's why we organized an Indian food tour with my good friend Zubin in Dubai and prepared interesting reports. In the first part of this two-part report, we will visit three Indian restaurants, so stay tuned with Mr. Taster in Dubai...

For the first report, we came to Sangeetha restaurant You can try all kinds of Indian food here. When we entered the restaurant, we went straight into the kitchen where they made a small dip called masala dosa, a dough that is spread on a hot cast iron surface. If there is mashed potato in it, it is masala dosa and it is eaten with various seasonings such as chutney, tomato, coconut seasoning, coriander chutney, green chili pepper, upma, semolina and punga, which was a very delicious combination. They made puri bread for us, the dough is fried in a lot of oil and we ate it with masala, potatoes and chickpeas, which is considered a South Indian dish, and it tasted great. They also have another cone-shaped bread that is similar to ragag bread, which you can dip in hot tomato sauce and gravy.
Uttapam is a dish that is cooked on hot cast iron surface it has onions, tomatoes, coriander and gunpowder spices. These sides are only eaten in South India and are very delicious.

The second restaurant where we were going to try Indian food was called Chatori Gali in Karame neighborhood where all the restaurants are located here. This restaurant has been here for 12 years and is Delhi based and is considered a north Indian restaurant. Most North Indians are vegetarians and this restaurant has vegan dishes. We tried different types of food, such as Chule Bhatura, which is actually a stew, and Bhatura is a type of bread that is fried in oil and you can eat it with homemade pickles that have carrots and ginger and onion, which was very delicious. Kati Kebab is a vegetarian dish that is made with soybeans

The next dish is veg butter, which is actually like the famous butter chicken dish, but this is a vegetable version, the protein inside is something like soy, which almost tastes like meat. I really liked the taste of this veg butter, and the important thing is that Indian dishes are popular for their spicyness. They also have cool drinks like mango lassi that is made with curd and has pistachios and almonds and is very delicious. They also served us garlic bread that is made in standing ovens and the taste of garlic and butter was great. I will definitely travel to India this year because of the experience I had tasting Indian food . We then had a dessert which was really like Iranian Zoolbia Bamiyeh and it's fried then they are put in a mixture of sugar and saffron and dipped it thick boiled milk when served, which turns out to be a very delicious mixture.

And the third restaurant we went to is called Aaraamam and it has been here for 18 years and it has very delicious South Kerala dishes. They have a famous milk and tea that is tea mixed with milk and sugar with a beautiful was of serving . They had a dish called Elah Eda Kerala, that has rice, coconut, and jaggery wrapped in banana leaves and left to cook. The hamour and shari fish were also very tasty. The interesting thing was that the food was served on big banana leaves and the combination of rice and meat was one of a kind. The fried anchovy was very delicious, it was like chips. For dessert, we had payasam, which is a type of porridge made from yogurt and has a sweet taste, with rice and all kinds of spices, cardamom and rose water, which was great. Stay tuned for the second part of the Indian food tour in Dubai, which will be posted very soon on my YouTube channel...

Even though the host was super nice and doing his best, but a lot of the information shared is incorrect or partially correct.
1. Sambar is not exactly gravy. It's lentil soup with lots of vegetables (pumpkin, brinjal, drumsticks, curry leaves and a lot of other locally found vegetables). It's a staple with all meals in South India.
2. Majority of Indians are non-vegetarians. Its promoted as a myth that most (North) Indians are vegetarians (God knows why?!). Around 28% of Indian population is strictly vegetarian and the rest eat all kinds of meats depending on the region people belong to.
3. North India (Delhi) is home of Mughlai cuisine, which is strictly non-vegetarian and which has originated during the time of the Mughals. It has historical roots in Persia as well apart from parts of Central Asia.
4. Chaats are snacks people adore and addicted to in most parts of India with regional variations.
Indian and Indian cuisine are way too diverse to be classified and simplified. Hope you visit India soon and try cuisines across the country-North, South, East, West, North East, Central India, Extreme North Himalayan and the rest. You will be blown away! Love from India.

Hello mr taster. Like your videos but you have choose the wrong person for the Indian food guide. He doesn’t even know how to explain properly specifically about North Indian food.
