They screwd up killing this Death, he actually taught Dean and Sam how messing with comics rules can be damaging. He literally wasn't petty or good or evil, he was simply just doing his job

I mean, the fact that he doesn't shame Dean in any sort of way and just treats it like it's supposed to be a hard but fair learning opportunity is fucking brilliant. Death is not a jerk, he doesn't hate anybody, he simply does what he has to even if the job is truly terrible at times.

This is Death’s version of Mr Rogers’ “I’m proud of you” speech. Dean fell down and hurt his feelings, but he now has some experience and more importantly, understanding on his resume that puts him in rare company.

How can the writing drop so much from this epic scene. Death later seasons doesn't really matter and is a bad joke really, even the devil or Arc angels are nerfed. This Death is one of my favorite characters

This is why i liked this version of death in the series so much, he not only teaches that reaping souls isn't easy but he also makes sure others understand that he doesn't enjoy it but understands he must do it. He also trys not to intervene in things unless its needed unlike the later versions that constantly try to attack the brothers

I really loved Death in this show. He was bluntly honest with the boys from the beginning and he taught them hard lessons. Great character, deserved to be on the show longer.

Also Death is a real one here. He widen the scope of dean's understanding of life and shows the consequences of what he and Sam do. It sucks but sometimes you have to roll with the until the later seasons at least lol
