One of the more insane musical sequences in film history.

A friend told me in an email that this song is a personal favorite of his "because it reduces war fever to its absurd essence."

I always say if I was visited by aliens and asked for 3 films to explain the human species, this would be one of them.

Oh wow, who would've thought a Marx Brothers film would turn out to be a documentary of life in 2024.

This was when there were no special effects and Hollywood didn't suck. This should be beamed out to the universe.

It’s quite extravagant. But insane musical number and just brilliant

This has been and will be a very dangerous clip because it satires any country which is going to war!

When the Marx brothers went to MGM, MGM wouldn't have any thing like this.

How can you be "double-crossed" by the enemy?

When I was reading some of the recent historiography on the origins of WW1 I couldn't help but be reminded of this very scene. I mean so many of the explanations sound sounded very similar to what Groucho says at the beginning and talking about a "preemptive strike" :D 1:19

Do you know, realize the talking about a very serious subject in a very joyful song?
