In the summer of 1997, I was in my car at an intersection in a small town in Vermont. A truck next to me was blasting music. I was instantly captivated by the voice. I couldn't get the driver's attention to ask who it was and he drove away. That voice was stuck in my head on repeat--one word echoing around in my head..."RUN". I had no idea who was singing and had no way to find out. Fast forward 3 years I am vacuuming the living room while the TV was on. I flipped the off switch and vacuum went quiet but suddenly I heard THAT voice coming through the TV speakers from a CNN story about an artist with a new album out. The song was LA Story and the singer was Beth Hart. Finally, after all this time without forgetting about that voice, I had a name. I literally dropped the vacuum grabbed my keys and drove to Strawberries Records down the street. Way in the back of the CD section, I found it! Beth Hart, Immortal and Screamin' for My Supper. I bought them both and immediately listened to Run on repeat. What an amazing memory that is with me every single time I listen to Beth Hart. She is absolutely brilliant. I love everything she has ever done and I am so glad that she has persevered and continued to find meaning in her gift as an artist. Her work with Joe Bonamassa is epic. Thank you Beth. Thank you.
