Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

What is Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? The context in which the religious leaders committed this sin was after witnessing multiple miracles by Christ and they rejected them as from the devil in order to protect their power and prestige. It is extreme obstinacy and outright rebellion against God, to exalt yourself, while knowing the truth, Satan's fall. It is the obstinacy that requires punishment.

Understanding there are ages is important. Ages past, the present wicked age, millennial age, new heaven, new earth, age. To be Not forgiven in the aged to come would mean to not be forgiven in the next age, which will have a beginning and an end, followed by another age. In that age, every knee bows and every tongue a claims Jesus is Lord. Everyone is a believer. God is the savior of all mankind 1 Timothy 4:10, And ALL things are reconciled through the blood of Christ cross Colossians 1:20. Our father who loves his enemies and teaches us to love and forgive, our enemies, does not have endless unforgiveness towards anyone. Thank you for your video.❤

1 Timothy 4:9-11 KJVS
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. [10] For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. [11] These things command and teach.

I think Davids makes more sense

Young's Literal:
"but whoever may speak evil in regard to the Holy Spirit hath not forgiveness -- to the age, but is in danger of age-during judgment"

Concordant Literal:
"yet whoever should be blaspheming against the holy spirit is having no pardon for the eon, but is liable to the eonian penalty for the sin"

David Bentley Hart has:
"But whoever blasphemes against the Spirit, the Holy one, has no excuse throughout the age, but is answerable for a transgression in the Age."

Hi there 😊

I would like to put in a plug for a video 🙏

** Willful Sin Atonement: as per Hebrews 10, the sacrificial system, 1 Sam 3:14, etc **

What would 'bearing your own guilt' look like, in contrast to being blotted out, Imputed to Christ?

I heard a preacher say a long time ago, that this verse was spoken under the old covenant. So Jesus was referring to not being forgiven under the law of Moses in the current age or age to come using the blood of bulls and goats. Yet under his own blood, it would be possible. With man it would be impossible but not with God 😉

Great video, thank you!
My preferred NT translation, in fact it’s the only one I use, is the DBH 2nd edition.

I live in fear of committing this sin. I have been tempted to leave the faith because I do not know if I have committed it. I’m still here, but when blasphemous thoughts about the third person of the Trinity enter into my head, I am fearful.

To be forgiven only means to not be punished, God's punishments are for correction.

Comparing these verses shows how "Aionios" and "Aionion to Come" are synymous ideas. But I reject the theory that Matthew was based on Mark in any way, I agree with the Ancient Traditions that Matthew came first and was originally written in Hebrew, Matthew who no doubt knew shorthand as a tax collector was able to document was Jesus said verbatim.

Jesus no doubt repeated himself a lot and so Mark's may be worded slightly differently because he's quoting a different time Jesus said the same idea.

Love this channel, but curious how people deal with the violence in the Old Testament that god himself commands with the god who is looking for universal reconciliation? They seem at odds with each other.

It's absurd to suggest that translators are rendering "never" in order to avoid translating εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. They're translating "never" *because of* εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα — because, when negated, this is idiomatic for "never." αἰών has nothing to do with "age" in this instance.

In my follow-up comment, I mentioned how the same negation is found in 1 Corinthians 8:13. In your own response to me, I have no idea why you focused on οὐ μὴ in that passage. Again, it's the negated εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα in that verse which gives the sense of "never." The same applies to negations of the precursor and equivalent phrase in Hebrew, לעולם. In fact, even still today in modern Hebrew, you say "never" with לעולם לא. You also refer to a backwards-looking "never" (in the past) by מעולם לא — where, again, it'd be absurd to suggest that this has anything to do with an "age."

Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision confirming the patriarchal promises for the sake of the truth of God. He was speaking to Israel, about their rejection of Him and the kingdom of God, as the book of Acts records the continued rejection of the kingdom as a nation this was the blasphemy of the Spirit, and has not been forgiven in this eon or the other one impending, but will be taken up again at the great white throne. This is about the nation and not individual believers. Today is the day of grace, God is at peace with mankind, offering conciliation through the blood of the cross, where sin abounds, grace superexceeds! Blasphemy of the Spirit in the context of Christ's words is not possible today. Christ spoke then to a specific people, under a certain ministry does not disallow that He has spoken again by the Spirit through the Apostle Paul. One of the main problems in Christianity today is that being apostate from Paul's teaching and revelation given to him by the risen Lord, mixing that with some things that are not about us in the present era. All Scripture is for us, but not all about us. Thank you for your time and ministry!
