The idea of MTG getting more accessible is honestly a good thing to me, cards like Cabal Coffers are near auto-includes for Monoblack decks in EDH and having it become cheaper is a good thing for anyone trying to play that color set

You forget that a good number of buyers are collectors NOT players. That is why some cards that have reprints don t matter for collectors in terms of value variations if they are reprinted because the number of those cards from a particular set will not increase as the reprints belong to another set. You present this as if we are all players and only care about the stats of the cards... I don t. Some cards go up some go down. Some are manipulated some are fomo'ed. In the end the value of cards increase with time as supply comes down. Investing in cardboard is a terrible decision

I say kill the secondary market with reprints. Wider availability is more important, just make sure there's higher and lower rarities for those who want to min-max the bling in their decks or play as close to the floor as possible

It wouldn't hurt as bad on reprints if they cut the price of boxes in half

A lot of the MH2 cards got pushed out by MH3 and see way less play now (Ragavan, Invoke elementals, Rhystic buddy, Urzas Saga). The reprints didn't help on some either.

It's not just re-prints. Many of these cards were power crept out. That's going to continue to happen. Cards mostly have value because people want them and play with them. Nobody wants to collect a Mythic card that's useless even though it's more rare than a good rare.

Esper Sentinel got reprinted in Modern Horizons 3 packs, but it still had the Modern Horizons 2 symbol on them. Just like the MH2 Elementals got reprinted in MH3 packs. A select number of MH2 cards got reprinted in MH3 but kept the MH2 set symbol. Ragavan was another one.

I agree with Richard Garfield's take in that if a card's value reaches more than $20 on the secondary market, it should be reprinted.

Reprints make the game more accessible for new players without them having to spend a ton of money on the game.

I also think that the reserve list is crap, should be done away with and all the cards reprinted. F collectors; Magic is a game to be played and shared not hoarded.

For a players view point i would say reprint reprint reprint ! But for a collectors view point i say, keep making really permium verions of the cards, then everybody gets happy !
The players gets their play pieces, and the collectors gets their rare, premium verions with serial number and all

reprints are 100% fine. do not buy sealed product except for drafting or for the fun of opening it. do not invest in non-reserve list cards.

hasn't wizards come out multiple times saying if you're collector this game isn't for you? keep reprinting then.

“reprints are a bad thing”? lol absolutely not

not even for collectors, because they’re not selling the damn cards

it only screws over arbitragers, who chose to take on risk because of potential upside

reprints are always good

Reprint for ragavan didn't matter that much. It's just less played in Modern right now

Seeing Ragavan go to $700 1/500 gives me hope for Edgar that maybe I can buy his serialized.

Reprints did not really affect rag. It was when they printed a new modern format. A lot of theses modern cards are because of the forced format change.

Reprints are great for players and bad for invest bros, personally i want to see more even if im losing "value" of my cards. I loved mystery booster 2 as i picked up a tonne of 30$ dollar cards for less than 10
