'MAGISTRO' (Demon) by CHRAPIVA | Geometry Dash 2.2

Wow, we're getting some really nice entries for the NCS Gauntlet Contest recently, and this one is no different. With only 9 days left until the deadline, I'm sure there are still many more to come. As always, I won't be doing a normal review here since the contest isn't over yet and I'm judging for it, but feel free to say your thoughts on it in the comments. We have already judged a few hundred of the 1000 current entries, so we're on track to release the results right after the deadline (with Saturday, October 5 being the planned Premiere date). It will be very exciting to see how the 2 Gauntlets end up. Good luck to everyone still building!

It's interesting how a lot of people shy away from having text objects in their levels because of the annoying black outline. Actually, lots of other objects behave the same way. But for CHRAPIVA, it's not a hindrance at all because EVERYTHING in the level has this black outline. This isn't only good for optimisation, but also gives the level a sort of "hand-drawn" vibe, almost like if the entire level had been inked on a rice paper scroll... And of course, this ties in PERFECTLY with the theme of the level, which references a lot of traditional Chinese art and architecture.
Sorry for ranting lol, I just wanted to emphasize what an artistic masterpiece this level is

Definitely a contender for the first place spot. I loved this part especially 0:54. Once again, there are so many good entries. I dont even know what level I'm rooting for anymore 👀

Definitely one of my favorite entries in the NCS gauntlet! The deco style is so unique, the song choice is great, and the theming is executed amazingly!

I've seen multiple previews of this one and it's surely been the entry that I've been the most excited for. So far it's actually my favorite entry. The visuals are seriously stunning and the attention to detail is crazy. There are amazing art designs and despite the huge amount of details it's not just straight up hyperrealism but through the choice of objects there's actually a pretty unique art style and aesthetic. I would be very surprised if this doesn't make in the top ten of the contest, in fact I'm pretty confident that it's gonna be a top 3 entry. Considering that we can probably expect some really big entries to be released in the next few days/roughly two weeks left in the contest it's hard to say if we have a winner already but I have a pretty good feeling about this one. Also as always it's awesome to see such a great entry from a creator who I'm not already familiar with. Contests like this always motivate creators to push boundaries and go completely crazy in the editor which is awesome. This one deserves at least a legendary rate imo, wouldn't be surprised about a mythic tbh. Fantastic work!

This is phenomal, Chrapiva. I have not seen such a unique style before, and thus I am impressed by the object use and the effects applied. The wholly concept of this level is brilliant, and its execution is magnificent. Personally, from what I have seen so far, this will win the grand prize of the NCS gauntlet contest, which is $1, 000 (however, may God bless everyone participating, whether complete or incomplete!). I believe this deserves a Mythic rating, but its release is splendid enough; the gameplay and decoration are both really enjoyable. I love this! :D

I have an issue with this contest, the fact that the entries get Featured, Epic, Legendary or Mythic before the deadline is a huge problem imo. Like it can discourage the creators that got "only" epic (or maybe featured) because the ones that got legendary are almost sure that they'll win (or at least be confident to be chosen).

So I'll advise you for future contests to rate the entries after the results. My solution is probably controversial too but at least better...? I don't know, but i would like to hear other opinions about this.

Loaded up the game after months of not playing. Just to try this lvl out. And i was happy i did. Such a good looking lvl. The transitions looks amazing and i really love how everything looks. Probably one of my favorite lvls.
