For anyone who’s confused: this effect is really hard to see over video, but looks insanely cool in person.

it's not a rock... it's a mineral

This is an evolutionary adaptation to avoid being eaten by predators

Suddenly, Flintstone TVs don't seem as farfetched as they used to.

Now I understand how people went through the Stone age.

Also, one of the differences between the TV Stone and the translucent glass is that the glass has a shadow.

This might be the coolest rock I’ve ever seen, although basic Quartz still blows me away.

I have a spherical piece of this. It was somehow polished into a sphere, don’t ask me how i have no clue, but it’s super trippy when you roll it along a surface and every rotation it just flashes from white to clear twice

I feel like this rock is more impressive in person when you have depth perception.

I can't believe fiber optic existed before we using it, geology is really fascinating

"What would you watch on your rock" is a combination of words I really didn't expect hearing today

I had one as a kid and it was by far my favorite rock among my rock collection. I have core memories playing with that thing. It’s still around somewhere. I should find it and play with it again.

I would watch other rocks on my rock. While listening to rock. I want a full rock experience.

I believe this stone is what inspired using fiber optic cable. The more pure the stone is the more clear the image. Fiber optics is a continuous strand of glass that transmits light, in waves, down the tube.

Imagine being a transparent rock that sounds like "you lack sight"

When i was at a rock store i was thinking why someone would want to buy stones with ugly pink and black letters on it but after looking at it more it turned out to be this with the letters behind it, bought it right away
