At-Home Physics Labs with Mathematica and Your Phone

COVID-19 and social distancing requirements make in-person physics labs difficult, if not impossible. I will describe my efforts to provide "at-home" labs for our second-year physics majors using Mathematica, smartphones and cheap kits that we have shipped to our students. Mathematica has sophisticated tools for analysing video which, coupled with the ability of smartphones to take high-speed, high-definition video, allow students to collect very high-quality data. I will discuss several experiments, including the experimental determination of normal modes in a system of coupled oscillators.

This is a huge step for Physics by going global and personal with open source science!!!
This is possible because of Wolfram Language and Mathematica !!! Brilliant and invaluable!!!

Thanks. This is very useful. I thinks this might come in handy for tests in non-academic settings.
