What better place to ride the world's largest traveling coaster than at the world's largest fair. Olympia Looping made it's debut at the Oktoberfest in 1989 & has appeared at every one since.
The Oktoberfest takes place every September in Munich, Germany.

Definetely one of my most memorable rides. How I describe it is; imagine your state fair rides, and the carnies that operate them. Now imagine a full sized rollercoaster transported by those carnies and put up in a week. What makes carnival rides a little scary is wondering if they tightened all the screws, wondering how well trained the carnies are, and how well maintained the ride is. When you see this thing in person it is amazing and terrifying, that it can travel anywhere. Great ride!

Yes, just rode it last night at LONDON'S 2018 WINTERWONDERLAND. Huge G Force and disorientating. Plenty of head choppers. The second lift section makes you feel like the train is coming off the track with a zero gravity feeling. Super ride even at £9 admission it was well worth it. Was told it might be the last UK visit in 2018 so glad I made the effort.

As a Munich citizen and avid Oktoberfest visitor, I remember this ride from ages ago. It used to be a twin loop with a track leading through one of the loops, then a triple loop and then a five-loop. One of the earlier versions, I don''t know if it was the one with 2 or 3 loops, had up to 6 gees, they said, and therefore the coaster needed to be softened. It was the first real coaster I ever rode.

I loved it in my years in Hamburg / Germany, it was there (at DOM Fun Fair) at least once a year, but I think it was rather twice. But not at all three yearly DOMs. I'm 54 now, bit I still would go. :) Just rode the Cyclone in September at Coney Island, it was fun as well. No loops though.

I'd so love to ride this coaster one day. I wish they had large traveling coasters like this one here in the states / America. I did ride the largest traveling portable coaster last year at our state fair here in North Carolina. It's owned by Wade Shows ( I think, I might be wrong about that )....Wild Cat? ...I forget the name right off hand, but it had some great air time hills and dips on it! ....no loops like this one in the video, sadly, as I love going upside down. :)

@Spidapiglett usually 20 people per train, but at the oktoberfest they put two more cars on each train so 28 people fit in one train

@callmemarc Apparently you don't get it. Each loop is the color of one of the Olympic Rings, and are assembled in such a way as to look like them as well. Hence the name Olympia Looping.
