Your high-efficiency washing machine was intelligently built to keep your clothes clean and beautiful. At the beginning of every spin cycle, your washer is able to determine if your load is out of balance. This video will explain how your washer automatically balances each load and the steps to take if a UE message occurs.

I put up with this same problem for 5 years and i finally found the permanent fix. I went to lowes and purchased a whirlpool washing machine and have not had the problem since. I want to thank lg for blowing me off three times and forcing me to purchase a much better product.

I've been fighting this for years. I hate this washer with a passion I cannot describe. It has done this since I bought it. I've had technicians out several times, still no fix. As others have described, it throws unbalanced codes even when it's spinning smoothly and nothing is out of balance. It takes hours to get a single load done. Some high-efficiency. This is obviously a known issue with LG's top load, no-agitator washers. It is unconscionable that they refuse to admit there is a problem or to take steps to fix it. I will never again buy an LG product, solely because of my endless frustration with this product.

HOW can this be considered "high efficiency" if it uses GALLONS of water refilling itself to automatically redistribute itself?
I hate mine and I'll never buy another LG product again.

We need to get together a class action lawsuit on this. This machine / model is obviously defective and LG.is leaving us all to just deal with it.

So glad it's not just my machine! I looked up "LG True Balance Issues" and see that the balancing issues we're having with our machine isn't just my machine. We've been having these issues pretty much since it was new. You can't use the "tub clean" function because the machine goes off balance over and over again and won't finish the cycle. It takes all day to get a small load done. Up and down resetting the machine. We purchased the machine in 2013 and I was debating weather or not I was going to call someone to repair it, but from what I'm reading, it would be a waste of time and money. It's really a shame, because other than that, I love the machine. I may end up replacing it sooner than I should have to because of this. It pisses me off! I should be able to use it longer than 6-7 years.

On my way to the appliance store today. I have fought this top loader since the day I bought it 5 years ago. Currently I am on 6 hours for attempting 2 loads. It doesn't matter if its a small load or a large load or what setting it is on, it is ALWAYS off balance. Most of the time I manually spread my clothes out at least 3 times a cycle. I love how it says its energy and water efficient though I probably go through several gallons of water as it attempts to rebalance. Doesn't clean well either. I had a dishwasher made by LG that lasted less than 2 years. I will never buy a LG product again. Got to go, my balance alarm is ringing again, only the 4th time for this load.

Avoid this washer at all costs. This unbalanced issue is a nightmare.

Even having this problem for weeks. Loads are balanced, the drum is spinning without wobbling, and still get constant UE codes. Takes hours to finish loads. I’ve concluded this is not a good product.

My son got this washer with his newly purchased home. Worst washer I have every seen. I tried adjusting the load at least 10 times, same thing over and over. At 10 minutes it starts filling up w/ water. Not an energy efficient machine at all. I've done a lot of laundry over the years and this is a terrible design.

Found 2 things positive!...The shell of this washer has withstood multiple kicks from my boot due to utter frustration. It also has a lovely glass top so you can watch a perfectly balanced load come to a screeching halt which intern pulls your load of wet laundry to one side therefore causing it to spin off balance & begin to refill again&again so you get a free waterfall show right there in your laundryroom...so, how cool is that!?! Ugh! Anyone know where i can buy one of those hand crank wringers they used in the 1800's?

This product is absolute garbage! Half of our wash loads take hours because it is always trying to balance the load. It's maddening to have to constantly babysit this wash machine!

Even replacing the motherboard did not fix this issue. It is a serious widespread flaw on LG. Run away and pick another up.

Lg why don’t you just have the option to disable the error code??

Our LG top load washer was delivered on Aug. 9th. I washed 2 beddings and 2 pillow cases and I had EU error with 1 minute remaining. I found this video and followed the advice. The laundry was done. I hope and pray that such issue be fixed by LG.

I have had mine for about 3 years and I get ue about 8 out of 10 washes. The washer is level and the spin is most often pretty smooth and it will still throw a code. I even done spin mode empty once and of course it threw a code. A lot of money to give for something that causes stress and frustration. I'll never buy another LG product.

Just had a repair man speak to a tech at LG, this has been a known issue for years on the WT1101CW model. The only way to fix the issue is replace the suspension rods. If that doesn't fix it, a new clutch(splines wear out) is needed. The cost is almost as much as a new washer AND the parts are the same ones used in the first place...

Our LG Smart Balance washer has been a nightmare since 2013. It will only complete a cycle w/out intervention 60% of the time. Who has the time to constantly monitor if the wash is in Balance. Our next machine will be a front loader.

I seem to have the same problem as everyone else... what have you all purchased after the LG wore you out?
Please and thank you!

My washer is off balance even when empty. It started new as okay, but as time goes on, gets worse. Now at a couple years old, I cant even run a small load without the drum slaming the sides of the housing. Went back to my 20 year old Kenmore washer and suddenly remembered how laundry was supposed to be instead of babysitting and constantly readjusting a load to watch the machine fill with water for the 20th time and mix the load again, attempt to spin, repeat process and error code. 4 hours later going down, take the sopping wet clothes out, put in the real washing machine and pulling out the LG to collect dust. Sure is pretty though 👍

Most of these kind of washers - LG but may sell as Kenmore elite, etc - has design issues: 1)damping rods fails at 3-6 years caused UE, 2)rust caused by spin out. Buy 1960-2000 top load washer(center column agitator), or side load washer(closed drum).
