Mine only has finger print when you search in settings but it takes you to bio metrics and its not there. It used to be there

It's a common problem with Sony, almost every models are affected by this malfunction. I hoped that I can find a real solution here, because the error seems to be often software related - sometimes the sensor "comes back" to life. Aww none of that helped. I've had my fingerprint setup since I bought the phone a year ago. It recently stopped working so I was trying to redo it. I was going to remove the set prints and re set it up like I have been doing when it stop taking my print (this happens often) except this Time there is no option at all. It doesn't come up when I type fingerprint in the settings.. there are no software updates.. how do I fix this? Should I do a hard reset?

I have the fingerprint option I have been using it for quite what I just woke up one morning and then it's got how could you say if you can find it in this three ways you given then it's probably because you don't have it on your phone?

My mother's Moto G Fast has lost the finger reader settings as well. It seems that this was a deliberate action behind our backs. I'll try a full phone reset but I have a feeling it won't matter. Companies suck when they pull these stunts.
UPDATE: I did a full reset on her phone and now the finger reader is working normally again. Probably an update killed it at some point.
