Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are building dive bomber planes! We have to drop a bomb onto a target but we can only drop the bomb from increasingly higher altitude thresholds. Who will win?

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.

Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.

Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.

Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

you can also do a reverse dive bomb. you put floaters on a bomb and let it float from under the water from a submarine

15:20 A miss. It looks like there is spash from the bomb hitting water.

you could do a submarine dive bomb. you use the same target. but you have to jump above the target from under the water and drop a bomb on it and dive back in the water.

15:25 - my opinion, it missed the platform.
Yzuei's bombs are set to detonate at sea-level altitude, had it landed on the platform, it most likely wouldn't have detonated. (as we saw in previous attempt with 'dud' bomb)
However, I am not familiar with the details of the game, so there are numerous questions I would have to evaluate this properly.

Yuzei's bomb explodes below/at water level so when he actually hits the target the bomb will not explode since it us technically 1 block above water... meaning he only got 1 point and the others were actually You thinking it hit the target, but it actually exploded close enough to deal damage. That was something😂😅

Little bit of insight into the experience of the Dauntless pilots at Midway - not easy to hit a target like that. At least you guys didn't have anti-aircraft fire to contend with!

you could do a threading-the-needle type challenge in which you add thrusters every round

For "dive bombing" the reasonable rule and logic to implement would have been: pitch greater than 45 degrees down from horizontal flight. BTW: If you have a somewhat stable flying bomb, putting a camera and cross hairs (nicely tuned in angle and cross hair center) should work to give you really good results. Could be a future build.

Concerning ideas for similar challenges like today: Have a bunch of possible target locations and one at random popping up and then you have a time limit to destroy it. (If that's too easy: After successful destruction another one randomly pops up and so on. The one who destroys the most targets in one run wins.) Needs a bit of thinking for the targets' logic, but you'll figure it out.

1. All players generate and agree on 5 game rules.
2. Solo player declares which rule they will ignore.

I'd love to see a salvage challenge from base story. Just don't turn in certain salvage, instead recover it and safely deliver it somewhere. If I remember right there's six or seven small salvage logic blocks on one floating island above spawn.

Also would love to see the carnage of trying to do a run where you only have one type of movement medium as in space, air, water, land. In other words one person does boats/subs, another does land vehicles, and the third person can do planes. Obviously this means you'll have to figure out a way to transport the other person when their out of their medium. The rider is in charge of the grabbing mechanism, giving them something to do and requires communication to collect salvage.

This was a super fun video. You guys should do a similar thing but with the "Bouncing" or "skip bombs"

Dive bombing challenge!
AA Guns attempting to defend a target (or the AA is the target) while a dive bomber has to line up a perfect run and do enough damage to put the target out of action.
The dive bombers have a certain number of lives (depending on how difficult it ends up being) while the AA gun (or target) only has one.

I think a fair way to accommodate Yzuei’s bomb could be to determine any primary explosion radii that don’t reach within the centre of the outer squares invalid. Still a bit flaky as the bomb explosion area is a bit scattered so would be up to interpretation from there.

You should use this format of challenge but make artillery cannons that launch balls (or what ever shape) of dynamite

So he literally saw his bomb was slowly falling making it go more straight but never fixed nor indurated it into the strategy
