Thanks for sharing my content, tonight I’m gonna try a new bios in the CH6, let’s catch up on twitter message and I can give you some live updates if you want to share it with your subscribers, tonight I’m full in benching mode :)

180 on single threads is actually pretty good for ryzen, my 6800k can only hit 169 at 4.1-4.2ghz

there is a slight IPC gain on Cinnebench R 15, my 1600X only managed 163 as a single thread on watercooling @ 4.0 Ghz. the gain may indeed be to the clock speed improvement. I will have to bench the 2700X at 4.0 GHZ to actually level the playing field in single thread. Great video! thanks for posting this.

181cb is insane for a ryzen cpu, this is the first time ive seen one break that 170 barrier, this gets me excited for ryzen 7nm.

I get over 36k on threadripper the next one is looking like it will be fantastic since the 1950x just doubles the best 1800x scores. Makes sense since they are two of those chips together basically.

Maybe wait a year for Zen2. Hopefully by then the memory prices will return to normal.

The video shows that he is on an x370 motherboard. From what I've seen the x470 boards have a lot better vrms along with that, the ram compatiblity will be better on the newer boards, this will help considerably just my two cents.

Dude what are you saying a 180 single core is bad? First gens got like 160 so that's about a 12% increase.

That was 4500mhz TridentZ memory set to 3600mhz and primaries tightened to Cas 14 rather than 3600mhz memory running at full speed which, on B-Die would be Cas 15 i think. That particular 4500mhz set is Cas 19 @ full speed before playing with timings if im not mistaken. Also roughly double the price of 3600mhz @ around 450$ (ouch). Im hoping the latency benchmarks are without secondaries and tertiaries tightened then it will be exciting seeing as how my 3200mhz set has hit 51500 bandwidth and as low as 63ns latency but sitting at 66ns right now on bios 3803.

Ya I agree with that recommendation. I think this is pretty much what I expected this time around.

Ryzen single thread 1800x tops out at about 160, so a 20 point boost is pretty significant. It isnt 1 or 2 points as you stated. Also ram speed has almost no impact on cinebench. You mustve had the sleep bug in order to hit 180. IPC is instructions PER clock, which is a constant, we change the clock speed allowing more clocks to happen faster, the IPC stays the same though. The only difference is how fast the clocks are happening. So it will almost always scale with clock speed increase. Going from 2133mhz ram to 3000mhz will net you around 15 points in a multi threaded test.

We're getting good results for the node shrink. GF states a 10% performance boost from the finfet tech. Checkout my newest vid for details. Not bad though, let's not forget intel basically just added cores to match ryzen without significant IPC gains. You gained a sub here :)

1or 2 points difference in single thread??? in what universe does a 1st gen ryzen even get close to 181cb?
even an 1800x would be struggling to get 161.. let alone 181

180 single core compared to my 165 on my 1800x at 4.05 is a good bump.

Finally someone test wow with ryzen 2700x
Question what's the safe vcore voltage for 4.2GHz?

maybe he had a lot of background processes running, lets just hope that's the reason for some of the letdowns in some of the benchmarks

This isn't with a x470 chipset so it may be different than what was shown in this video.

Damn I thought I missed a benchmark stream when I saw this.

I think the best potential for the 2000 series is for people that won't overclock their chips, assuming they use the 400 series chipsets. I mean if all we get is 300mhz and a small decrease in cache latency, it's not really much in the way of catching up to intel.

Currently running a R3 1200, can't decide which of the new x chips i want to upgrade to, but I'm leaning 2700x mainly for the best included cooler, I don't really need the extra cores but why not get 4 extra threads and a nice cooler for only $100 more?
