Port forwarding does not change your Internet speed or your ping at all.
Port forwarding serves a completely different purpose, namely to host servers for multiplayer games over the internet.
You only need port forwarding if you're hosting games or playing games that may make you the host.
Do not use manual port forwarding, use UPnP if it works properly. Also always remember that the traffic on these ports is forwarded directly. If the game has security holes, the computer/console can also be attacked.

This was the best description of port forwarding that I have watched. How about showing how to set up a set of LAN relays that can be purchased from places like Amazon and provide remote control from a simple web server?

I've been having trouble with my ps5 internet connection and the few times I've talked to xfinity they always talk about them sending signals to sync the console to the router. I always ask about port forwarding and they never even comment on what I should Do. I don't understand why they can't do this easily on their end or at least suggest this to the customer if they're a serious gamer. Thanks for the info in the vid. Hope it helps.

I’m looking to do this for streaming using chiaki (a linux PlayStation remote play) to stream to my steam deck, do you think this tutorial could still apply to my situation? I’m really trying to find tutorials on this that makes sense but it’s very difficult

You should cover that this should be on a separated VLan / network incase it gets compromised, so it doesn't affect the other network devices. ! Good video though..

Using a TP-Link Deco XE75, in Port Forwarding there's "internal" and "external" ports to set... do I just set both the same, eg 1935 (PS5) ?

Thanks this was great! I'm trying to do this on a Motorola router and when setting up the port forwarding I have to put in the start/end point for the local/external IP addresses. I'm not sure what to put for the local start/end points so any help on how to do this for a Motorola router would be awesome

Thank u man very informative video. I want to add ports to use PSplay remote app but when I try to save the ports it just won't save them. I have a ZTE router.
