Hurricane Milton: Florida preparing for impact

Hurricane Milton is barreling towards the Florida Gulf Coast. The monster storm just upgraded to Category 5 again.

I have 5 acres in the panhandle for anyone who wants to come here to ride the storm out. If you have enough gas money to get here and back home, you're all set. The weather her is very good and you will be safe here. I can take as many people that have a tent. I also have a small cabin that can be used by a family. It's not fancy but a free place to go with water. I'm dead serious about this. Just respond to this post, and i will respond.

Everyone keeps saying that it’s stupid to not evacuate. What about those who can’t afford it/don’t have a car? What are their options (if any)? As NJ resident who hasn’t dealt with many major hurricanes, I’m genuinely curious

North Carolina here...according to most residents in the Asheville area, FEMA denied ALOT of people assistance because they said they didn't have the funds and because FEMAs computers rejected peoples applications. This is unacceptaible.

Guess we calling citizens from N. Carolina liars. First, people don’t have asses to electricity to apply for the $750, others are only getting a portion because they don’t qualify for all that sum. They are calling some areas disaster areas and bulldozing them down. Residents are saying they had no support from government to save lives, prohibited supplies that were needed to come through, and people are still suffering from not having water and food. Some are stuck in the mountains, no military to help. Residents are helping residents. This administration is a shame. Press secretary said FEMA was providing help for illegals, now they are saying the republicans are lying.
