By far one of the best channels to educate yourself on Thailand. Keep it up man 👍

All good advice. I would add:

Don't cut all your ties with your home country for a year or two. Living in Thailand is not the same as vacationing in Thailand and you want to keep the avenues to return open.

Banking - I would maintain bank accounts in your home country, Have 2 different bank accounts each with a credit card. If one bank fails you then you have a backup. I maintain a real US phone number. Some banks don't like voice-over-internet phone numbers. I do straight wire transfers to Thailand from my US bank. Check to see if your bank does wire transfers to Thailand or use Wise or a similar service as recommended. I was unable to set up a Wise account (long story) so look at multiple options.

Visas - visas are infinitely easier if you are over 50 years old. Besides the visas you will see on the Thai embassy websites you should be aware of the LTR visa offered by the Thailand Board of Investment and the Elite visa program. These are both for wealthier individuals.

Love your channel

Probably the calmest voice on YouTube. As far I know you're hypnotizing me to come to Thailand.

I know I've said it before, but I truly do appreciate your kind informative voice as you lay it all out. My husband and I are rethinking moving to Thailand after the shocking election "results." For me, it will be like returning to my favorite place to live, period. I tend to think I can find everything I can find at Big C so, we will need to sell or give away our belongings, furniture, dishes and all, including my beautiful Thai, Balinese, Chinese et al, antiques...That will hurt but it will be a temporary hurt. I hope I'm not too old to live as an Ex-pat in Thailand. I will need to call and check to see if my health insurance is good outside America. You have touched on so many important areas. I'm aware that before the Embassy School had a department that handled all of the visa stuff. It will be a bit of different kinds of work we will need to attend to. It was very easy bringing my kitty cats into the country with their shot records and waiting for the Vet to check on them at the Thai airport. I will come first by myself to find a place to Thanks so much, Tony!

All your videos are basically saying the same thing in different order. However, I still like it.

Thanks great video. Could you share how you will handle the new Thai tax law requirements for staying longer than 180 days? Example of how you will submit would be great!
