So true! I am not a victim of my past but a real survivor! My daughter of 28 send me a card: ‘ who needs a hero when there is mom?’the only thing i regret is that I can’t really tell a beautiful story because it just wasn’t.. But I’m happy now and maybe live long enough to write a few happy decades.. I am certainly not pissed of or bitter.. it was what it was..and I sure learned a lot of it.But if I meet new people I sometimes feel ashamed about how everything went wrong…my grandmother used to say: the lord only gives you what you can bare.. 🌺

Thanks Dan, great advice! Question: how does this idea fit into journaling about the past and getting it all out on paper? Is the idea, journal it out and feel the emotions behind it and then let go and look for the lessons learned? I have tried journaling and somehow when I was done, I didn't feel much better. It got me worked up and then I was snappy and moody the rest of the day. It didn't work for me the way Nicole Sachs says that after you journal it bounces away like a beach ball in the water.
Also if you can make a video on self forgiveness and self compassion, I feel that would be helpful as well. I'm reading a book on self compassion now (among other books) and I feel that part of my problem is forgiving myself and having self compassion instead of feeling guilty for past mistakes. You did touch on this topic on this video so I was thinking of possibly expanding the idea.
Thanks so much!
