Love my Daiwa zillion so only buying a new reel if it’s better than the Zillion. Really appreciate all your advice and hard work

I’ve never had a reason to move away from Shimano….. then you brought up the Cameltoe.. you are one hell of a salesman

Ive only had a few Diawas but they just haven’t held up to my Shimanos. My oldest Calcutta is over 20 years old and still going strong.

Hard to go backwards doing a drop test once you’re on a Daiwa. After explaining the 4 main features of the SV, almost every customer walks out the door with it. Some returned a Bates and also a DC for it🤷‍♂️

I wish Daiwa gave the new SV the same chrome thumb bar. But the SV Boost just made the tatula that much closer to the Zillion SV. I played with my 24 Salamandura SV 150 and the Boost makes the cast so much easier and far.

Nice rundown.
Thanks.
I love all my Shimanos and Daiwas but my favorite reel at the moment ( believe it or not) is my Kastking Royal legend 3.
Cheers

the new 100 is a very good caster. can cast a crankbait, mostly into the wind and still achieve a useable distance. Given accuracy is more preferred over distance I don't care about that. It definitely feels much larger in the hand over the older 100 and the 17 svtw, but it feels comfortable, nonetheless.

Caught my PB largemouth last week on a tatula. 8.2 pound 22 inch long

Great video, I'm very interested in the SV Boost. I have the 17 and 20. The 17 is easier to use, and the 20 is by far the best for palming. I think the 20 is easier to hold than the Steez. The problem with the 20 SVTW can't cast it long distances. That's why I really like the Tatula Elite.

I’ve got several of the gen 2’s and they’ve been mostly great. The clutch bearings tend to fall out of the sideplate. I just take them apart and glue them in place and that fixes the problem

I have the 150, very nice. Much smaller, smoother than the older 150’s I have. I bought it on a Black Friday sale for $175. Definitely gonna get a few more to replace all my swimbait reels.

No offense, I buy my gear from a local tackle shop. Did I pay $40 extra? Sure. But I also supported a local business owner that has a family. I supported a local businessman who donates to our youth sports programs year after year and is a sponsor of several local tournaments. I supported a local business owner that has kids in the same schools as ours. I supported a local business that employs local residents. Please spend your money close to home, it truly matters.

I love a good Chevy vs Ford argument, or Daiwa vs Shimano for us anglers. Stuff like that got me in trouble on the forums.

I’ve got the 2nd gen and the new one and side by side the 3rd gen absolutely smokes it’s! Love them both but this new one on another level .

The new Tatula performs like a zillion for $150 less. Smoothest Tatula by far. The first gen Tatula was junk imo. 2nd generation has the best looking frame.

I like that top plate split…it reminds me of the aldebaran which is one of the most ergonomic reels I’ve ever used and also the reel I throw more than anything else for short/medium range applications. It pains me that Shimano fucked with that design for their newer BFS aldebaran…but hey, if they continue goofing with the shape, at least there will always be plenty of 30s and 50s on the market for me to gobble up on the cheap.

I have the same reel. My only complaint is the thumb bar is mushy with weight on it. No weight it feels great as soon as you put 1/2oz and above it looses it’s solid feel.
