I feel sorry for you. My family did it too, was against my drawing style (manga), one day my father throw out all my comic books and magazines. Some time passed and I've quit drawing for 18 years ☹️
Now I come back to it, slowly learning watercolors. I'm picking paints, looking for swatches on internet etc. It help me with anxiety and it is relaxing.
Now my mother want me to paint. Ironically! All that time she was against my hobbies and now she want me to come back to it. What a joke, it pisses me - after all her criticism through the years 😤
