Brown University's Main Green is cleared after pro-Palestinian protesters pitched tents there last Wednesday.

Gaza Solidarity Encampment spokesperson Arman Deendar said the university and encampment came to an agreement Tuesday afternoon.

Brown shared the agreement and President Christina Paxson's letter to the campus community.

"The pressure of us being, staying on the Green, staying here saying we will not move until you listen to our demands really forced her [Paxson] to take action," said Deendar. "That's something that encampments and students across the country should be noticing is that it's working. They're listening."

🤣 Do people not know they made agreements with the administration literally by talking it out and are leaving voluntarily.

I met George Harrison here his son was attending school there. I was on my way to work and stopped at a small coffee shop there. When I walked in I noticed George sitting in a booth with another person.I wanted to go and thank him for his music but I stopped and respected his privacy. On my way out our eyes locked George nodded and smiled at me. It’s a cherished memory that I never forgot.Mr Harrison was a beautiful spirit and a fantastic musician! Thank you for the memories Love you!

This is what America has looked like from the beginning... Protests. Others being affected is the point. You build enough pressure, the kettle will blow. The encampments Nation wide made an impact (or at least a short-term one). A core demand is that universities divest from Israel. That means withdrawing funds their endowments have invested in companies that are linked to Israel.

College students, in real time, are affecting talks at much higher levels. Also, our government seems to be between a rock and a hard place, so, divesting would attempt to choke out Israel from within, a punch from the people, per se.

Why do so many tents look alike? Bought by the same person?

Strange, I seem to recall this all started October 7th, 2023. Interesting how they wait for spring to set up these encampments. True revolutionaries...

With all these dismantling, you could make a fortune on lightly used camping gear

The protesters were shutting it down themselves because the school worked with them on a mutual agreement to end their ties to Israel. They're one of the few schools that actually listened to their students to end the protest. For those of you complaining about the encampments, why don't you look into why they were protesting?!?! Focus on the real problems people. College students protesting has been a way to drum up some change and attention for decades! How about we listen to what they're saying?!?

This comment section makes me wonder how low humans have fallen. So a bunch of students raising their voice against genocide using freedom of speech is wrong but killing 30000 children is not?

Tell the school board and administrators to dismantle it themselves. The whole bunch that allows this to happened.
