Some of you have not had to stand up to someone or struggled with it and it shows. Yeah her dad didn't defend her or stand up to the mom. However he did give her reassurance and comforted her. It is not easy for everyone to just stand up to someone like her mom. I have literally lost my ability to SPEAK trying to defend someone. Not to mention there is going to be a time where Enid isn't going to have anyone else to defend her and she will have to do it herself so in a way it's good she learned how to do it.
