Lexus is giving the IS #sedan another lease on life. This third refresh on the third generation IS is bringing incredible styling on the outside. But what about the interior? What about the Powertrains?!

Oh no! The current grill is one of the best things about the IS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! What Lexus really ought to do is increase the width of the car so there's more horizontal leg room in the front foot wells, replace the stupid track pad with a dial, provide wireless Apple Car Play, install a heads up display, and for the love god, give it a better transmission.

in regards to the grill...if it aint broke..dont fix it..the refresh it needs is the infotainment; wireless carplay/android auto not the exterior.

I just hope they redesign the interior and keep the V8 of the IS500. I would be happy with just that! Updating the transmission would also be a nice addition, but probably unlikely.

Replacing the turbo with a hybrid makes sense. Making the same power with drastically better fuel economy would be extremely desirable and new for this class.

I just hope they dont discontinue the 2gr WITHOUT having a replacement ready. I could easily see lexus putting in a rwd version of the i force max powertrain for increased is350 power.

Im really shocked if they keep the v8.

I don't think the IS can look any better then it currently does. At this point, either kill it off or do a whole redesign and make it bigger

A new refresh would be exciting. However I would love to see an all new redesigned IS. Lexus did the same with the LS460 for many years just refresh after refresh. That can cause them to lose market share. I believe that’s why the LS 500 isn’t doing well. Either way I’m excited to see what they come up with just hope they update that interior.
