Sorry this video is very overly censored, had a lot of issues getting this one uploaded, the full uncensored version will be on my Patreon shortly, I think it's much better.

I once was in a mosh and saw a dude doing dark souls combat rolls

Its kind of silly to think about a fan of hardcore music going to a show and having absolutely NO clue what a mosh pit is.

Moshpits at a metal gigs are unironically some of the most wholesome experiences. You leave bruised to shit, but always with new friends.

As an ADHD kid I can confirm we do try to make a mosh pit out of every song that we hear live

“You’re gonna have to guess which of those are made up and which are correct” got me.

I have literally no idea which are made up though, because I have never heard anybody referring to the manic, psychotic flailing they do in a pit by any name

youtube censorship is unironically starting to resemble 1984

Mosh pits are a strange one. Simultaneously the most violent and kind place in the world. I have sprained both ankles at shows over the years.

YouTube is seriously forcing you to censor mosh pits? That's beyond fucking stupid

Moshing has evolved and continues to. Yes Hip-Hop and EDM pits are usually very chill by Metal/Punk standards but they basically allow the section of the crowd who doesn’t mind dancing and being more energetic to do so and not bother the people who prefer to just watch

In my eyes, and likely the eyes of others, a mosh pit is a very unifying experience. Everyone in the pit is bonded by blood and as long as you can headbang to the music, you're welcomed and accepted. Race, gender, religion, or political opinions are no longer a concern. All that matters is headbanging side by side with everyone around you. Its fuckin awesome 🤘🤘

In the local scene here in Az we have a thing called beat down pits and it’s just people straight up beating each other up

The most wholesome moshpit I've seen was at a sabaton concert lmao

The worst mosh pits I've been in were at $uicideboy$ because everyone was a child with no spatial awareness who had only ever heard about moshing on the internet and at Interpol because you have to be legitimately unhinged to want to mosh to Interpol

Was recently in a mosh pit in a indoor Voivod show and a kid was doing the kozak style dance in the middle of the pit and everyone started hollering and clapping like crazy for him, even the band was looking. He lasted impressively long, half a minute at least. And everyone was tired at this point. Anyways, crazy fun, would get slammed into dudes four times my size again.

Crowdkilling isn't exactly the way you describe it and there is still crowdkilling etiquette

It's basically when you run/jump/crash into, or throw some fairly mild shots at the people standing on the perimeter of the pit

It's generally accepted within hardcore because the etiquette is that the people who are "on the line" chose to stand there knowing the risks, holding the line is de facto consent to getting hit by crowdkillers

Basically "stay out the pit if you don't want to get hit" also applies to the pit perimeter

If you're a hard mosher you hold the line whenever you're not getting active in the pit, makes it easier to dip in and out of the pit as you please, do a little crowdkilling and get a little crowdkilled etc... It's all in good fun

Unfortunately the common misconception is that crowdkilling is when people leave the pit area and start smacking up random people who are clearly trying to stay away from the pit, that's not crowdkilling, that's being a dick and it is definitely frowned upon

Will never forget when some dude puked on me in a pit and traded shirts with me. Last I saw him he was asleep under the stairs lol
