What a great video. Kudos to the company for helping us new/old musicians understand what this means. I recently took a Fender neck in to a repair shop and said, “put some new frets.” The guy said, “I don’t think you need frets. A proper crowning will take out those indentions and smooth it out.”
I had no idea what this meant. But trying not to sound stupid, I said, “well then yes, let’s recrown them.” Ala, 220/221 whatever it takes. I wish I had seen this before my

I started at level 3 before learning level 1 and level 2, boy that was a tough lesson. Good thing I started with a cheapo guitar. my second time trying to refret a guitar, I felt I failed so I completely removed the frets and started again.

Third time's a charm. After over 20 hours of messing up, everything came out perfectly. I've done my frets on 4 or 5 guitars now without paying a Luthier. it's rewarding. Now my two cheapo Ibanez guitars are equipped with EVO gold frets.

Tools totalled 1000 bucks on stewmac. Worth it.
