Have you ever considered retiring in Malaysia, or is there another country on your mind?"

As a Malaysian living in Australia, I miss Malaysia so much—the friendly environment, the vibes. I couldn’t agree more with most of the comments here. Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia are great for cheap entertainment, but Malaysia is more about family vacations and being a good business hub. Its not as expensive as Singapore.

I lived in Malaysia with my family as a child from 2006 to 2010. I loved it and miss it so much.

Why do people travel to other countries and insist on only hanging out with other foreigners? In every country I’ve lived in, I’ve only made friends with the locals.

Malaysia is a diversity and laid back country..
It's an under-rated country with decent people and beautiful country..
Almost everything you can find here.. Malaysia is truly Asia 🇲🇾👍

I miss the vibe—the laid-back, family-friendly, cozy atmosphere. The food, nature, and people made my childhood amazing. I’m sure it’s changed a lot since then... We lived in Langkawi, Putra Jaya, and Kuala Lumpur. I hope to move back one day.

"Wow, this video is such an eye opener! I remember visiting Malaysia and being impressed by the local food markets. I tried nasi lemak for the first time and it was like a blast. It was a blast. The video really shows the interesting surprises of Malaysia.

I have lived as an expat in Thailand for many years. I am going to give Malaysia a very close look this year. I might make a change.

The MM2H renewable visa is 5 years now. No more 10 as it was before. I had my first MM2H visa in 2013 for 10 years and renewed it last year for 5 more, not 10.
But that's ok for us. We will stay as long as Malaysia allows us to stay.
I worked in Malaysia before for 11 years. So I knew what to expect when we decided to retire in this country.

Lepak culture in Malaysia really helps relieve stress from work and the challenges of life. It’s not about clubbing, but more about hanging out at mamak stalls, cafes, beaches, and shopping malls.

You’re absolutely right! As a Malaysian, were more laid-back, relaxed, and chill. Everything feels average, and I really appreciate that. Theres no crazy nightlife, which means its more peaceful and calm. I’m sure our country is safer compared to our neighboring countries—more wild nights often mean more crime and chaos.

The last time I was in Malaysia was in nineteen eighty five when I was in the navy, it was a cool place. We went to penang.
