Lightyear as a PS1 game

This is the first non-game related demake I've tried. An odd fit, but I enjoyed trying something more cinematic for a change. Mostly hand animated, but used a Vive + Glycon again for a couple of mocap shots. Really speeds up the process. This time i've also added some PS1-style dithering too.

Lightyear is a 2022 American computer-animated epic science fiction action-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is a spin-off of the Toy Story film series, serving as an origin story for the fictional test pilot/astronaut character who the Buzz Lightyear toy/action figure featured in the main films was inspired by.

I like how you kept the Toy Story and the animated series proportions of Buzz Lightyear whereas the movie decided to go with more toned down human proportions. Frankly I think the cartoon Buzz Lightyear's suit has a better silhouette that makes it more recognizable and C H O N K Y.

I mainly grew up with the ps2, not the ps1, but this still scratches that itch of nostalgia; I still remember playing the old wall-e game on my ps2 and it felt so cool being able to play trough the universe of a movie I loved.

This feels like a old Playstation 1 commercial you would see in the late 90s and early 2000s. The ending with Al's Toy Barn and Rex looking at the PS1 game was the icing on the cake.
