Показать описание
Rebecca Jackson reviews the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan R, a family friendly SUV with the power of, well, a Golf R. While it might not be as much fun to drive as an ordinary hot hatch, and it isn’t as comfortable as an ordinary SUV, the Tiguan still delivers as an overall package. Would it be your choice of fast SUV?

Read our full VW Tiguan expert review:

Pros
Very practical, with lots of space for people and luggage
Good to drive
More affordable than premium rivals from Audi and BMW

Cons
A Skoda Kodiaq is cheaper
Mixed reliability record
New car warranty is short compared with those offered by Hyundai and Kia

I can't believe a variable boot floor isn't included at that price as standard. I can't stop thinking about it >_<

Yep I can’t wait… i do wish we had the option for those seats here in Aus, we only get the leather option which is basically the same seats in my current R-Line Tiguan

Surely you get an R model cos you're interested in and prioritize power, dynamics, handling prowess? do a twin test with the 330i touring, please?

Love our one, no where near 50K and we added extras.

Its a step up from the standard Tiguan, so I think its a great vehicle.

I can't help but really like the look of Tiguan R, I also prefer the infotainment system in this than newer VW products, but 50K ? I just don't know, especially with VW cutting corners in quality now to save some pennies.

What i can't understand about VW is when you add the options the price becomes insane.

The GLA35 and X2 M35i are also competitors I think..

Too expensive. I've had 3 VW's not any more.. they have upped the prices too much.

50k for that no way seat tarraco 2.0litre tsi for less than 40k and more kit and 7 seats, you really pay for the VW badge .by the way the windows on the Tarraco have VW etching on the glass and are made side by side as the tuguan allspace .I think the 10, 000 is better in my bank account than Volkswagens

Surely the true competitors for this car are the Audi SQ5, BMW X3 40i or the Mercedes GLC43? All are more expensive but perceivably more premium and with noticeably more power. Am I sensing a deliberate mismatch of competitors in this video to make the Tiguan R seem a better proposition? 🤔

50k price tag!! The golf R is much more desirable!!!
The tiguan is heavy, but shares the same engine as the golf R.

It needs leather interior as standard and 40 k would have been a better starting price the Cupra ateca is the better option for me.

Kona N would also be something someone would cross-shop.

I'm struggling with the £50k price tag I mean it's still a Tiguan at the end of the day hardly desirable, could think of so many many cars I would rather spend 50k on.

For 50k you could have a 3 litre X3 or Q5 which are both more luxurious and much more desirable

The Cupra Formentor is a direct competitor and cheaper. I wouldn't call this a review; try Autogefuel for those. This is more like an overview with an lightly stated opinion at the end.
