Leorio's ability is not to emit his punches. Like Ging guessed, his ability is meant to inspect patients without any intrusion to their bodies, and sometimes even operate on them. The hatsu essentially emits nen back and forth through objects, that can be a person, or a wall or table or ground.
The punch is just one application of it. In a way, it's like using a scalpel to stab someone: yes, the scalpel can be used as a weapon, with varying degrees of success, but it's not made with that purpose in mind, and thus it clearly will never perform as well as a knife meant for combat.

It's said that Razor's casual spike can actually break bones, forever pinning his opponents into one spot.
He's also known for having killed his subordinates for disobeying his order to press the like button on new-world review videos.

EMISSION is the easiest to notice, as it is heavily categorized,
more so than all other Types,
so whetever you wanna judge someones Ability or make youre own (which youre encouraged to do,
cause it's Fun), always remember the 5 things most associated with Emission:
-Projectiles
-Holograms (if not solid) and Nen-Beasts (if solid or maybe nt)
-Telepathy
-All sorts of Signal-Sending and -Receiving
-Teleportation

The "string" on Pokkle's "bow" could also be transmutation. If you look closely, his fingers actually get pulled back along with the string. So there's some actual elasticity there... like a sorta... bungee...

Emittion is definitely my favorite Nen affinity with it being so close Manipulation and especially Enhancement you would have the potential to be EXTREMELY dangerous in combat and otherwise considering Emittion alone gives you access to some pretty broken abilities from Kamehamehas and Destructo Discs to badass Nen Beasts

There was actually a guy on Razor's team who was a boxer before the dodge ball game started that had a remote punch ability, so it was already shown an emitter could teleport his fist and punch, Leorio was not the first in the series to do this, a random fighter did it in Greed Island so it can be assumed this is a basic emitter ability.

Razor is still the most overpowered and strongest Emitter of the series.

The medical knowledge combined with nen could have made Leorio the most dangerous character in the show.
Id also love to see a physicist get ahold of a One Piece logia fruit.

If I was an Emitter I think I would either use my combination of Enhancement and Manipulation to control object and enhance their power. Either that or use manipulation and enhancement to increase and alter the pain of an opponent. To incorporate emission I would use nen projectiles as an activation requirement in both cases.

It’s still a bit confusing as to how emitters can create nen beasts. That seems like something only conjurers or transmuters would be able to do.
