Au Pair Interview Do's & Don't

In this video, we discuss some advice for Au Pairs, as they prepare for their interviews with potential host families. This video is from a host mom point of view. These videos are made in collaboration with my current and former Au Pairs. Please give this video a thumbs up so it gets shared. In the video, we discuss tips and recommendations, do's and don'ts, when preparing for host family interviews. We recommend you dress appropriately, practice the answers that you would give to questions asked by the family IN ENGLISH, be prepared with questions of your own to ask the family (make sure to ask about the children), practice speaking in English prior to getting online with the family, make sure you are set-up with good internet/video/audio, thank the family, and express interest in the position.

Great tips! I would encourage au pairs to think not only of questions to ask your employer but also questions you would ask a roommate, the fit has to be right in many ways!

I'm in 12 grade this year and I'm going to the states next year to be an au pair!
But I'm nervous about families not considering me because I'll only be 18😅 and I think most families prefer older au pairs but I'm positive I'll get a request once my profile goes online. Thank you so much for the advice!
