I Spent 100 Years Making a Zoo in Planet Zoo | Planet Zoo

Here is the 4th and final part to this 100-year zoo series! I thoroughly enjoyed making this zoo but I'm glad it's over lol. I'll most likely post a supercut of these 4 videos together by either the end of this week or the start of the next.

The sitting behavior you saw your ring-tailed lemurs doing is called sun worshiping. They essentially bask in the sun, usually in the mornings, before setting out to find food. Lemurs also have two tongues with one sitting under the first. Their main tongue is used as a normal tongue to eat food and communicate while their second tongue is used to clean its comb-like teeth (fittingly called a toothcomb) they use to groom other members of their group. Lemurs are a type of primate called a prosimian (essentially meaning "pre-primate"). I just really, really like lemurs!

Here’s what I do to manage my animal storage and to “restock” habitats: I have two extra zoos.
The first is entirely for animals like big cats, wolves, etc. that cannot have more than one female at a time. The big cat breeding also doubles as starting money for my ambitious zoo starts. Seriously, the amount of terrain work I did for my Oceania/Australia zoo was worth like 10 or more lions.
The second is entirely for the “offload.” I design my first habitats of a species so its occupancy size can be at the maximum possible level. So I have only offloaded males because of fights.
Unfortunately those two zoos need to be treated as functional first rather than art.

Yeah... the longer you play and the bigger you make your zoo the quicker you start to realize... they NEED to let you population control the habitats like exhibits, or even maybe make a new staff type like a manager or something that you pay a higher amount than normal, that does it for you as they reach the habitat. That and lag are the two reasons I stopped my franchise, I just turned the zoo into a sandbox with no guest and limited animals so its actually playable but also a big zoo at the same time
