This video is the truth. If the company installs a program called "Unisyn" the cam could record audio and video of the driver without a trigger and without the drivers knowledge. Up to 7 days of playback would be available to whoever wants to view it.

I wont drive for a company who has camera's. I drive trucks for the freedom not to be babysat.

That's disturbing and such an invasion of privacy.
Thank you for sharing this information.

20+ years over the road, no highway accidents, no moving violations, if that's not good enough for a company and they want to "camera" me, good bye.

I am okay with it facing the road. Not okay with it facing the driver. My company has it facing the driver. Another reason to leave.

This thing got me fired from my job. I was with my employer for over 6 years, perfect driving record. But, then my employer installed these in their vehicles about 6 months ago.. I pulled the plug due to being annoyed by audio speaker. I got terminated over this. "oh, we don't care about your perfect, spotless driving record, you're terminated anyway". " we saw you pull the plug". BULLSHIT way to fire people. Not good right now. But, I have an interview on Monday. 8/29/22

We need cameras on the ones that have cameras.

Good info. Just turned down 2 $70k a year jobs on account of the companies utilizing this tech. Ive never bought into the "only in an event". Lots of companies are gonna miss out on hiring million+ milers such as myself and others on account of this.

I got my windshield replaced while on home time, I come back and the cam was they forgot to stick it back on. It now sits in the glove compartment.

I went through the whole drivecam with A.D Transport Express. they said in orientation "oh it's just turn on in a critical event" so I said alright no problem. I decided to test that by using a hat to cover the drivecam facing the driver and just showing the outside. I get a call from they safety department saying "oh you got something covering the inside of the truck" we need you to remove it for your safety as well as ours. They didn't said nothing about any "critical" events I had. Just about me covering it. From then on I knew they was watching 24/7.

This is a huge factor in why they can't find drivers still in 2021 (the media conveniently doesn't mention the drive-cam reason!!) Such an invasion of privacy. Many road drivers have their wives with them and it's none of the company's business what they talk about or what they do (after all you wouldn't want a camera in the bedroom while you and her make love)
No one should work for someone that doesn't trust them or wants to spy on their drivers. So glad I'm retired.

LOL. I did, regularly give the middle finger to my Drivecam.

Personally I have to find it funny that if you look up Lynx Drive cam's channel which they have several videos. On all of them comments are disabled because they know the only people who like them are the companies. Not the drivers.

At the point when someone said all it does is record critical events I scratched my head. So it records critical event when it happens and just before it happens and the cam is not continuously recording. I immediately called bs on it. If for "one" second you think a recording device is not continuously recording you need to go back to common sense school.

Our company just installed drive cam this week. They assured us the cam only records during "critical events"....i had my suspicions! Thanks for the feedback!!

They can access it whenever they want. We had guys putting electric tape over their lenses. We all got emails stating that if the equipment was tampered with that you can be fired. Nobody had a critical event during that period

I absolutely hate these cameras when used with a company “point system” on top that they induce unnecessary amounts of stress and anxiety, especially when the “points” you might get take 18 months to drop off with the “point system”
It’s nothing but a liability protection for their insurance rates and covering up for any companies lack of training for their drivers programs.

I worked for waste management for almost 6 years, the camera records everything but lytex only sends the clips of events that are triggered. However if there is an event your company questions they can request a “Deep Dive” which is your company requesting to see video for whatever day and whatever time they want to see. So yes you are being recorded 24/7
