Former Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, was interviewed by Kay Burley of Sky News the morning after Rachel Reeves budget. He attacked a lack of welfare reform, and explains what he would have done instead. Hunt says he would have reduced the welfare numbers back to 2019 levels, and that would have required "sticks".

What a horror this man is. He would punish the poor, disabled and unwell even more than he did while in power. Cruel and nasty. Shameful, evil and morally bereft. He is a liar and needs to be called out. Kay is one of the worst interviewers on TV.

'We need to pay rich people more to incentivise them"
"We need to pay poor people less to incentivise them"

Tories, in a nutshell.

Some people need a carrot and some people need a stick. It depends on the individual. Forcing a borderline disabled person to spend 40 hours a week applying for jobs they can’t do is both cruel and a waste of time.

What's more alarming is he isn't challenged on what that means. Journalists will spend 30 mins trying to pin a labour mp to what a working person is, but let slip someone cheerleading for punishing more people for the failures of his government.

I am 1 of the 8 million waiting for spinal fusion surgery . I injured my back whilst at work and lost my job due to health capability. I am now on benefits as I am unable to work. The Tories never accept responsibility or the blame for their actions.
Good riddance to them. Deform plc will be even worse if ever got into power.

Give people on benefits more money, not less. They would tend not to hide it in off shore accounts like the tax avoiders.

£10, 000??? Blimey! I'm a train driver and I wish I'd got a £10, 000 pay rise! He'll be telling me I'm on £60, 000-a-year next (I'm not, by the way)! Total 'Tory bollocks - as usual.

For 14 years, this study in mediocrity devalued everything he was given to run. What makes him think his considered opinion has any worth, when balanced against his epic failings?
